The Altoid Tin

I have been interested in doing a covered Altoid tin. Problem is I hate Altoids. But my boss eats them like crazy. So day before yesterday I ask him if he could save me one so I could do a project. He said he had several saved and would bring them to me.
Imagine my surprise when I arrived at work yesterday morning and there was a canvas bag filled with Altoid tins. About 100 or more.
What in God's green earth am I going to do with 100 Altoid tins? He was pleased as punch with himself that he had brought them so I managed a smile (and not a hearty laugh) and said thank you.
I told my EGA group about it last night and we are going to do a project next year with them. There are only 30 of us in the group.
So that leaves me with an extra 70 or more Altoid tins...
Stay tuned to see what marvelous ideas I try to come up with to use these.

That's ok I'm feeding them to hubby I have on tin so far and just got him working on another one. I want to try making a needle holder with them. Or a small sewing kit soemthing like that.

I love doing Altoid tins and get the chocolate covered ones. Also found some dark choc covered Creme de Menthe that are really good. The Victoria Sampler site has a cute freebie pattern and great finishing instructions.

That is hilarious! 100+ = a few??

Glad to know that you're going to do something with them. If you find you've got too many, I'll be glad to take a few (not 100 LOL) off your hands. :D

You could try selling them on ebay. I have bought some there, and they are harder to find than you would think!! I now have a source that sends them to me via interoffice mail!! LOL

That's funny that he was saving them. Lucky for you! I just made my first tin and now I have everyone at work saving ANY tin they get. So far, none! They are really fun to put together.
